What is meant by Region code

Any DVD Player that sold in an area will be equipped with an area code. Similarly, the DVD is produced which will also be equipped with area code depending on the allotment where the DVD will be distributed. At the time of DVD inserted into the DVD player and will be run, it first checks the player code.

Region code itself is usually only intended for DVD Video and DVD Game only. DVD Audio and DVD ROM are given almost no region code.
